Under general supervision, the Customer Service Representative provides telephone support to external customers who contact Planet Payroll concerning payroll practices, software operations and other technical and non-technical issues.

Job Duties Include:

• Maintain customer service levels according to Planet Payroll standards.
• Provide prompt, courteous service to all external and internal customers.
• Answer up to 50 calls daily in the Planet Payroll customer service call center, with the ability to answer more calls during busy times. 
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to customer problems. 
• Identify and resolve customer issues.
• Write small application modules and reports to calculate payroll. 
• Assist with special projects as assigned. 
• Work overtime as needed, especially during quarter-end and year-end. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education:

• Minimum two years experience in customer service, preferably in a call-center environment
• Experience in a service industry required; experience in a payroll service bureau desirable
• Experience in a help desk environment or software support highly desirable
